Kapuas River

Kapuas River is a river in West Kalimantan, Indonesia's longest (1143 km), along the banks of the river lined houses and over 300 species of fish habitat.

Kapoeas name is also found in Central Kalimantan, precisely in Kapuas. This river stretches about 600 km, from district to district Kapuas Strait.

Kapoeas remains the lifeblood for the people living along this river. As a means of cheap transportation, Kapoeas can connect one area to another area in West Kalimantan. And it is also a source of livelihood to supplement the family income to be fishing. Socio-cultural community has been affected Kapoeas the rapid advancement of technology and information.
