Lake Tolire

Lake Tolire is a lake located in Ternate, North Maluku. The lake is located about 10 km from the center of Ternate, in addition to the unique shape also has an interesting legend. Tolire lake located at the foot of Mount Gamalama, the highest volcano in North Maluku. The lake itself consists of two pieces. Local people call it the Great Lakes and Lake Tolire Tolire Small. The distance between the two is only about 200 meters.

From both these lakes, the Great Lakes Tolire unique. This lake resembles a giant pan. From the top to the edge of a lake with a depth of about 50 meters and a width of about 5 hectares. While the depth of the lake itself has so far not known. To date no one has measured the depth of this lake. But according to origin stories, depth meter and kilograms relate directly to the sea.

Fresh water in the Great Lakes Tolire is home to a variety of fish. However, local people have nobody dared to fish or bathe in the lake. They believe that the lake where the water is yellowish brown, the crocodile inhabited by many demons.
Another great feature of this lake is that throwing something into the lake, no matter how powerful the throw by using a stone or other object, for example, will never touch the water of the lake. Yet when throwing from the edge of the lake, the lake was seen under the foot of the thrower. Perhaps those who first visited the lake, would not believe the fact.
